The Sustainable Approach 2020

The sustainable approach - 2020!

2019 was the year when the penny finally dropped - that the world is heating up, and it's everyone's responsibility to make the necessary changes to reverse things. This sounds like a very tall order, but it can be done - here are five fab tips to get you started on the sustainability route!

01 TAP WATER
We had to face facts; our bottled water consumption in the office had to change so we switched to the good old tap and you know what, we can’t believe we didn’t do this sooner. We love steel containers that keep it ice cold for 24 hours, try Chilly’s bottle from Theworkshopbelow.com

02 RE-FILLED INK CARTRIDGES

Available for pretty much every type of printer, ink and toner cartridges are re-filled and re-sold which is great for the environment and manufacturers have put a lot of effort into ensuring the quality is top notch too. Ask our team about switching today.

03 SANDWICH WRAPS
Ditch clingfilm and plastic bags and bring sandwiches into work in washable, re-usable fabric bags. We were sceptical at first, but we love Boc n’roll wrappers from reyousable.com.

04 RECYCLED STATIONERY

Lots of manufacturers of office product are getting in on the green act - check out the Pilot range of B2P (Bottle to Pen) ink gel and ball point pens, which are made from recycled water bottles or the Esselte-Leitz lever arch files - which are made from recycled materials initially, then when they’re done you can dismantle them and recycle again.

05 HAND SOAP
Having read that the plastic bottles with a dispenser that hand soap comes in are made from five types of plastic and can’t be recycled (unless they are separated) we decided to give good old-fashioned soap a go and guess what? It wasn’t so bad after all.
